Educators’ Emergency or Special Circumstances Guidelines
Nbparents’ policy requires teachers to follow the planned class schedule or make up any missed class time. Sticking to the planned schedule is very important because families plan their daily routines around class times. Many learners have tight schedules and must give up other opportunities to attend Nbparents classes, so please take this into consideration when making any adjustments.
If you need to cancel a live class due to a personal conflict, please follow these steps at least 24 hours in advance:
-
Immediately post an announcement in the relevant class on Google Classroom
-
Notify the Nbparents team by email: support@nbparents.com
If the family does not wish to attend a make-up class, the class will be postponed, or we will arrange an alternative solution at the parent’s request.
-
Emergency Circumstances
Although Nbparents’ policy requires teachers to teach as scheduled, we understand that some situations are beyond your control, such as medical issues, family emergencies, extreme weather, or other special circumstances.
Communication is key. If health issues, family emergencies, or other special circumstances arise, please notify Nbparents as soon as possible and provide photos or videos as evidence (without revealing any personal or private information of yourself or others). The photos or videos provided will only be used to verify the emergency situation and adjust the class schedule. Nbparents will keep this information strictly confidential and will delete it promptly after the class arrangements are completed.
We will work with you to make the necessary adjustments to your class schedule. For classes scheduled to take place within 24 hours from the time the emergency is reported, our team will:
-
Notify parents on your behalf
-
Cancel classes if necessary
-
Assist with arranging make-up sessions, postponements, or other alternative solutions
Since Nbparents is an online platform where teachers manage their own teaching business, we encourage you to continue communicating and collaborating with parents and learners during emergency situations.
-
Long-Term Teaching Interruption
If you encounter an issue that causes you to be unable to teach for an extended period, please inform us of the expected pause time or date range. Nbparents can provide appropriate arrangements for you, including but not limited to:
-
Teachers may take a leave of absence and resume teaching when conditions allow. Please see additional information below.
-
Nbparents may adjust policies on a case-by-case basis to help teachers continue teaching, including assisting with withdrawals and refunds, or helping to reschedule classes.
-
Temporary Break
If you are taking a temporary break from teaching on the platform for any reason, you should follow these steps to ensure a positive experience for families and a smooth transition:
-
Notify the Nbparents team by email: support@nbparents.com
Teachers should follow the above steps to arrange a teaching pause. If not completed, the platform may restrict class publishing or access permissions.
Nbparents provides platform support and coordination services but is not legally responsible for any learning loss or family loss caused by teachers’ emergencies.
